Glazer Children’s Museum wants your kids to be a little more proficient at stacking couch cushions and rearranging chairs.
This Saturday, March 15, a new and considerably larger version of the popular “Forts” exhibit will reopen at the downtown Tampa museum.
The newly refurbished 1,100 square-foot open space now features plenty of room for creativity to flourish, with “larger-than-life framework furniture for fort building, hideaways and interactive projection mapping technology, vintage and repurposed elements, including a grandfather clock and unique decorative touches,” says Glazer.
The new and improved exhibit is designed to be inclusive to children of all ages, and sensory-friendly areas along with blankets, quilts and other fabrics will be provided.
“Play is at the heart of everything we do at Glazer Children’s Museum, and fort-building is an incredible way to spark imagination and creativity,” said Sarah Cole, President & CEO of Glazer Children’s Museum in a statement. “With this expansion, we’re giving children an even bigger space to construct, collaborate, and explore—all through the power of play.”
In addition to practicing their assembly skills, this permanent installation provides kids with the building blocks they need to take on more complicated tasks and problem-solving.
“There’s nothing quite like the sound of children giggling as they build their own worlds. That’s learning and creativity at work,” added Cole.
No reservations are required, and tickets available on Glazer Children Museum’s official website starting at $19.95 for Florida residents.Subscribe to Creative Loafing newsletters.
