A man with a full beard and a straw hat with a feather and a red rose is smiling while holding a beer stein. He is wearing a green and white checkered shirt with brown suspenders. Beside him, a woman with a floral wreath on her head sips from a matching beer stein. She is wearing a purple and white traditional German dirndl with a white blouse. Tampa breweries Common Dialect and The Independent are teaming up for an Oktoberfest adventure.

In their two-week celebration, “Oktoberquest,” a $25 custom stein and quest card unlock a lineup of activities at both spots — from “Drink Around Germany” beer tastings and Bavarian pretzel plates at The Independent to stein selfies, trivia, and Oktoberfest games at Common Dialect.

Attendees also have the chance to win prizes like beer, gift cards, merch and more which will be available for pickup at the Oct. 4 Oktoberfest finale. The bar also hosts a family and pet-friendly Barktoberfest on Oct. 5.

Celebrations kicked off Sunday at the Independent’s Suwannee Avenue Marching Band Parade and ceremonial Weihenstephan keg tapping.
